The first z-axis enabled devices are now on the market, so what does this mean for PSAPs and first responders? Hear about the data on emergency calls coming from a floor above ground level – based on tens of thousands of 911 calls that are enabled with vertical location.

In densely populated areas, a substantial percentage of E911 calls come from multi-story buildings which present unique challenges for emergency responders. Specifically:
*Vertical Location: In multi-story buildings, it can be challenging to determine not only the address but also the specific floor or unit from which a call is made – which is needed for a timely response.
*Situational Awareness: Having accurate location information helps emergency personnel navigate the quickest and safest route for response as well as know where their colleagues are within a multi-story building.
