Steve McMurrer serves as 911 System Administrator for Fairfax County Virginia's 911 public safety information technology programs as well as providing overall program management of NG911 efforts within the County. Steve is involved in setting strategic direction and interoperability of 911 capabilities for Fairfax County with the Commonwealth of Virginia efforts as well as the Metropolitan Washington Council Regional Council of Government (MWCOG) operations. Steve serves on multiple Virginia State Planning Committees and is an active NENA member and Co-chair and member of several NENA Working Groups. His prior experience includes 911 operations and ownership of a small business as well as employment as a Program Manager with a large international technology company in multiple disciplines. Steve also served as an officer in the US Army. Mr. McMurrer received the NG911 Institute Public Safety Professional Award in 2021.
