Matt Sloane, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, SkyfireAI
Matt Sloane is the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer for SkyfireAI. In 2014, Matt founded the legacy Skyfire business, and over the course of ten years, worked with nearly 1000 public safety, federal law enforcement and DOD agencies to help incorporate drone technology into critical incident response. Before founding Skyfire, Matt spent 14 years at CNN’s global headquarters in Atlanta as a medical news and special projects producer, working under Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta. While there, he had the privilege of covering such major world events as Hurricane Katrina, the Boston Marathon bombing, the Dalai Lamas visit to the US and Diana Nyad’s historic swim from Cuba to Florida. Matt also spent 4 years as an EMT-Intermediate with Emory EMS, rising to the position of Chief of Resources and Planning. He now serves on the AUVSI Air Advocacy Committee and the NFPA’s Technical Committee on Drones; and frequently works with members of Congress and the FAA on issues surrounding drones in the public safety and critical infrastructure space. Matt is also a licensed manned aircraft pilot, and lives in Huntsville, Alabama.
