Amanda Winans, NC Deputy SWIC/24Hr Watch Manager, North Carolina Dept of Public Safety
Amanda is a dedicated professional with over a decade of experience in emergency communications. Having served as a telecommunicator in two states and as the manager of a state warning point and information-sharing center, she brings a wealth of expertise to the field. In addition to her work in communications, Amanda is an integral member of a team developing training and education for emergency services regarding human factors. Recognizing that successful disaster response requires a balance of both mental and physical well-being, Amanda is leading efforts to cultivate healthy habits within the disaster response community. She is committed to creating cutting-edge training programs that empower leaders to perform at their highest capacity. Amanda holds credentials in COML, INTD, COMC, and CISM Peer Support, and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology and sociology with a minor in psychology.
