Christy Moreno, National Organizing Director, National Parents Union
Christy Moreno is the National Organizing Director for the National Parents Union, a national public policy and advocacy organization that represents the united, independent voice of modern American families. She recently served as Chief Community Advocacy & Impact Officer at Revolución Educativa and the Latinx Education Collaborative, nonprofits advancing Latino success in Missouri and Kansas through education advocacy and civic engagement. She’s the former Director of Advocacy for the Missouri Charter Public School Association, where she successfully built state-wide support to achieve the passing of funding equity legislation for public school students in the state of Missouri. Christy owns Moreno Denton Language Services, an interpreting and translation firm with 25+ years of experience serving Spanish and English communication needs across sectors. She serves on the boards of Mision Despegue and Forever Welcome and participates in the Education and Steering Committees for the Welcoming KC initiative under the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Her awards, fellowships, and certifications include the 2024 MVP Award from the National Parents Union, the 2024 City Fund Leadership Fellowship, the 2023 Kauffman Education Fellowship, and the 2021 Human Rights Consultant certification by the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights.
