Joni Harvey, State 911 Administrator, State 911 Office, Michigan State Police
Joni Harvey is the State 911 Administrator for Michigan and oversees the State 911 Office (SNO). The SNO serves as the main point of contact for and provides resources to all PSAPs and other local, state, tribal, and federal agencies for all things 911 in Michigan. Responsibilities of the SNO also include areas such as state training certification for telecommunicators, 911 surcharge collection and remittance, legislative requirements and reports, and monitoring compliance with 911 laws and standards. Additionally, the SNO provides administrative support to the Michigan State 911 Committee and its subcommittees. Joni represents 911 on numerous workgroups and committees at various levels of government and champions fostering/facilitating 911 collaborative efforts in many ways.
Over the last 21 years Joni has fully committed herself to the overall success of public safety operations. She is an active member of many organizations and works diligently to continue moving 911 forward. She is a strong advocate of mentoring and providing opportunities for growth and learning. Joni is open-minded, a forward thinker, and believes in building positive relationships with industry partners of all kinds to enhance the overall success of 911.
