Mark de Jong, Wireless Engineer, Idaho National Laboratory
As a Wireless Engineer at the nation's leading nuclear research laboratory, Marks mission is to solve impossible obstacles with solutions that are the forefront of wireless communication. Confronting today's RF challenges is what keeps the INL a global leader in communication- from providing cell coverage into the basement of a reactor with 6' lead walls, to ensure the accessibility to over 2000 Land Mobile Radio users. Modernizing, securing, and interoperability are staples in day to day responsibilities. Mark is INL's Primary System Administration of a virtualized Phase 1 P25 radio system. Daily tasks include managing subcontracts with third party vendors. Additionally Mark manages solutions like SPLUNK, VMware, and Cisco ASA appliances in our complex and critical communications network.
