Ensuring 24/7 up-time is crucial for first responders. Solar, wind and battery storage are not typically components of traditional first responder networks, but innovative solutions integrating them are now becoming more widely available. Integrating renewable energy sources as part of the backbone supporting critical communications not only allows for resiliency, it supports ESG mandates and reduced CO2 and GHG emissions. Case Study - Goblin Knobs, Nevada, with 3.1kW onboard solar capacity, along with 18kW of ground-mounted solar and lithium-ion energy storage, an integrated solution is designed to power a public safety microwave installation. By harnessing solar energy and utilizing the lithium-ion battery storage, the reliance of generator power is reduced significantly, leading to a reduction in generator runtime by over 60% percent.
In this session, you will hear about:
New innovative and sustainable solutions for energy
Integrating renewable energy resources for resiliency and ESG mandates
A case study on a microwave installation
