This panel will discuss the challenges that public safety agencies face when communicating across disparate radio systems, especially during multi-jurisdictional incidents and large-scale emergencies. Interoperability remains both a technical and organizational hurdle, as legacy infrastructure, vendor-specific platforms, and varied governance structures can hinder seamless collaboration. This panel brings together the top manufacturers in public safety communications to discuss various MCC architectures and the various cross-communication possibilities. Discussion topics will include the role of standards such as P25 as it relates to each manufacturer and MCC solutions. Subjects will include cross-band systems, cloud-based solutions, various API’s, and governance frameworks that foster cooperation across dispart systems. Panelists will share lessons learned from real-world events, examine the balance between cost, security, and effectiveness, and identify actionable pathways for achieving reliable, mission-critical interoperability between disparate systems.
