The Dragon Bravo Fire is a large, ongoing wildfire on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park that started on July 4, 2025, due to lightning. As of September 3, 2025, it had burned over 145,000 acres and was 80% contained. The fire has closed the North Rim of the park for the remainder of the 2025 season, and its impact included the destruction of approximately 106 structures, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. This session will explore the use of broadband technology/FirstNet to support the incident management team's operational requirements in wildland environments. Specially, how the use of deployable technologies have become critical to incident management and how FirstNet is assisting.

Takeaway

* Understand the critical role of deployable broadband technologies in managing large-scale wildfires
* Learn how FirstNet supported the Dragon Bravo Fire incident management team in a remote, high-impact environment
* Gain insights into how broadband-enabled tools enhance coordination, situational awareness, and safety in wildland firefighting
