Many believe the recent market expansion of multi-band radios solves 'Interoperability'; however, most digital radio system subscribers only include the legacy analog FM operating mode for interoperability. This falls short of the actual requirements for many agencies.
These features only address band differences for cross system and multi-system needs. However, as more systems move from analog to digital, users often find they need to operate across multiple digital modes to meet their interoperability connectivity requirements.
With the introduction of practical multi-technology subscriber equipment, we have entered an era where multi-band and multi-technology capabilities can be combined to design cost effective systems addressing a much wider range of interoperability use cases than can be with any single-technology system.

This session presents an overview of how to best apply these capabilities to your communications and interoperability requirements, and how to avoid some of the pitfalls when deploying multi-technology equipment.
