A Forest Guide and Data Interoperability - A Path Forward for Neighboring ESInets

Budge Currier  (President, Emergency Technology Consulting)
Brooks Shannon, ENP  (Director, Emergency Communications Solutions, Esri)
Bob Finney III, ENP  (Director, Communications Technology, Collier County Sheriff's Office)
Ira Pyles  (NGCS Technical Solution Coordinator, INdigital)
Location: W223
Date: Monday, March 16
Time: 9:40 am - 10:40 am
Track: First Responders
Topics: Cybersecurity, Network Infrastructure, NG911 and CAD
Format: Panel Session
Vault Recording: TBD

A Forest Guide promises a method to determine which ESInet should receive a 911 call, as well as providing the ability to route calls from one ESInet to another by interacting with the functional elements of the NG 911 system. During this interactive session the panel will discuss how a Forest Guide actually works and will explore a number of use cases where a Forest Guide can improve 911 call routing, provide cybersecurity, and provide the information needed to ensure interoperability between ESInets. At the core of this session will be the importance of Data Interoperability and conformance to commonly accepted standards. The panel will discuss use cases for the Forest Guide and the data needed to route calls in those scenarios.
