Jared VandenHeuvel is the Director of Public Safety Solutions for the Texas Department of Public Safety. He manages the Public Safety Solutions Center, which consists of enterprise mobility management and emerging public safety technology research. In this role, he helps develop agency policy and strategy for the use of mobile broadband devices and applications. Jared participates in a number of public safety working groups dealing with FirstNet, communications interoperability, information sharing, and identity management. In his previous roles at DPS, Jared has worked as an intelligence analyst, and as a coordinator for technology projects such as air-to-ground video downlink, border sensor networks, and video analysis software. Jared is an Army veteran and holds a BA degree in Political Science from Arizona State University and a MS degree in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas.
