Lindsay Stromgren, Assistant Fire Chief, Amherst MA Fire Department
Lindsay is currently the Assistant Fire Chief for Operations and training for the Amherst Massachusetts Fire Department where he has proudly served for forty one years. He oversee daily aspects of the department’s operation including the facilities, response vehicles, equipment, and communications systems. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, a Massachusetts Credentialed Fire Chief, and holds a bachelor’s degree in fire science administration. Lindsay is also a technician with the Special Operations unit out of the State Fire Marshalls office who responds to incidents around the state to support local fire departments with an Incident Command Vehicle for communications, a firefighter scene rehabilitation vehicle, and as a drone pilot for surveying fire and other emergency scenes/rescues. Lindsay has been an Adjunct Faculty member at Greenfield Community College for the past two decades where he teaches courses in the Fire Science Program, primarily Fire Hydraulics and Fire Protection Systems. He is a member of the Western Massachusetts Homeland Security Interoperability Council who evaluate regional radio and other systems for compatibility, utility, and recommend funding for regional projects. Lindsay also holds a General Class Amateur Radio license.
