Timothy McDowell, TS Communications and Wireless Manager, Washington State DOT
Mr. McDowell joined the Washington State Department of Transportation in 1993. In his 30-year career with WSDOT he has held nearly every job classification position in state service that is associated with wireless communications installation, repair, design, and management. He led as Project Director for a 37 million statewide project which spanned 5 years in 4 phases and is nearing completion. He is currently the ITS Communications & Wireless Technology Manager. The ITS Communications & Wireless Technology office is responsible for the design, coordination, installation, and management of the statewide wireless systems including wireless support infrastructure for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices. Previous to WSDOT, Mr. McDowell worked for EF Johnson Company to supply and install Washington State Department of Transportation's statewide 800 MHz trunking voice communications system. He is a US Navy veteran.
