Jonathan Lewin, Domain Lead, First Responder Network Authority
Jonathan Lewin serves as a Domain Lead at the First Responder Network Authority. He previously served as Executive Officer of Operations and Acting Deputy Director at INTERPOL Washington (a component of the U.S. Department of Justice). He retired as Chief of Technical Services (CIO) at the Chicago Police Department-- where he served as a sworn member for twenty-eight years. During his tenure, Lewin introduced Chicago’s Strategic Decision Support Centers (SDSCs) -- decentralized real-time crime centers which connect first responders with advanced technology via smartphones for situational awareness. These centers are now in all twenty-two police districts. In 2019, he was named to Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers and awarded the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Technology Champion of the Year. He currently serves on the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Committee and holds an MA in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, an MA in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, and a BS in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
