John Lambrou, Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff, Motorola Solutions
John is Motorola’s representative in wireless standards - TIA and 3GPP with focus on system architectures, audio/video codecs, air interface, interoperability, intrinsic safety and RF exposure. Over his nearly forty years with Motorola, John has contributed to system and product development projects serving the microwave, land mobile radio, cellular, and satellite communication spaces for a wide range of customers in government, public safety, and emergency services markets, as well as for utilities and industrial, petroleum, and transportation companies. He is Chair of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8 Mobile and Personal Private Radio Standards Committee, including numerous TIA P25 Standards Subcommittees: - Chair, TIA Air Interface Subcommittee (TR-8.10), - Chair, TIA Land Mobile Radio Intrinsic Safety Considerations Subcommittee (TR-8.21), - Chair, TIA Equipment Measurement Procedures Subcommittee (TR-8.1), - Chair, TIA RF Exposure Subcommittee (TR-8.17), - Chair of the TIA/TR8 APIC Systems Task Group Project 25 Technology Interest Group (PTIG) Secretary and Board Member. John holds a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MSCSEE in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois.
