Lance Johnson, VP of Spectrum Strategy and Government Affairs, Anterix, Inc.
Lance joined Anterix (formerly pdvWireless) in 2014 as it was negotiating the acquisition of the 900 MHz spectrum from Sprint. He worked with other industry leaders in formulating the proposal and rules for modification of the 900 MHz band to create a broadband opportunity dedicated to enterprise. In this role, he has worked to educate the 900 MHz enterprise wireless community about the benefits of private LTE technology deployments.
Previously, he was with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet). In his capacity as Director of Regulatory Strategy, he analyzed and reviewed all spectrum issues that effected FirstNet. He was part of the team at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration that helped stand up FirstNet. He also provided direct oversight of over $300 million of federal grant funds for the expansion of public safety broadband facilities, which included the first public safety LTE wireless systems in the United States.
He began his wireless career in 1998 through 2008 in the Corporate Strategy Group at Sprint Nextel working on 800 MHz spectrum transactions.
Mr. Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in resource management from the State University of New York School of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University. He also received a law degree from Pace University School of Law in New York
