Amos Halava, Public Sector Business Development Manager, Samsung
Amos Halava serves as a Public Sector Business Development professional at Samsung Electronics America, where he focuses on developing technology solutions for law enforcement and public safety agencies. He recently retired as a Criminal Intelligence Investigator at the Carter County Sheriff's Department (TN) after more than 20 years of law enforcement service. He is also an active volunteer firefighter with more than 25 years of experience and has served in all positions, including fire chief. He brings a strong practitioner perspective to his technology development role. Halava has extensive experience with tactical communication technologies, particularly the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) platform. He has demonstrated expertise in ATAK's applications for situational awareness, ISR operations, drone integration, public safety communications, UAV/UAS coordination, and emergency management. His knowledge in this area has led to presentations at APCO International conferences, where he has shared insights on TAK (Team Awareness Kit) technologies. In addition to his Samsung role, Halava serves as Chief Innovation Officer at Autonomy Today, where he focuses on advancing innovative solutions for public safety and emergency response applications. His unique combination of active law enforcement and fire service. and extensive technology industry experience provides him with practical insights into the real-world challenges facing public safety professionals.
