Michael Fox is senior associate director of Texas A&M University's Internet2 Technology Evaluation Center (ITEC), where he directs operations for the center's research portfolio. Mr. Fox has worked in telecommunications and Internet engineering since 1984, when, at LSU, he helped build one of the largest PBX systems in the country in response to the break-up of the Bell System, and he supported one of the first sites of the new NSFnet, which would later form the foundation of the Internet as we know it today. Mr Fox held various executive positions at Wellfleet and Bay Networks as well as Nortel Networks, where he served as VP of Woldwide Systems Engineering, designing and supporting some of the largest networks in the world.
