Scott Boggs, Managing Director-Homeland Security & Public Safety, Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments
Scott has served as the Managing Director of the Department of Homeland Security and Public Safety at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) for over 9 years. His team supports regional groups like the Fire Chiefs, Police Chiefs, Emergency Managers and 9-1-1 Directors to include cross-cutting committees like the Interoperable Communications Regional Programmatic Workgroup and Public Safety Communications Subcommittee. These committees focus on maintaining and expanding interoperable communications through regional initiatives and maintaining agreements such as the Interjurisdictional Memoranda of Understanding for communications. Scott retired from Prince William County Fire and Rescue after over 26 years of service prior to working at MWCOG. In that role, he chaired many local and regional bodies focused on regionalism and interoperability.
