Susan Benedicto, Asst Director-Geospatial Solutions, IT, City of Frisco, Texas
With over 33 years of experience in IT and GIS within a local government setting, Susan Benedicto has excelled across multiple technology disciplines, with a primary focus on GIS data visualization. She has been instrumental in fostering a strong partnership with Public Safety personnel at the City of Frisco, leveraging geospatial technology platforms to enhance Fire and Police services. In 2008, Susan conceived and led the development of SAFER (Situational Awareness For Emergency Response), an innovative GIS platform that provides first responders with critical incident information through a common operating picture. Since its implementation, the collaborative efforts between IT/GIS and the Fire, Police, and Traffic Engineering departments, along with the Frisco Independent School District, have thrived, facilitating ongoing data integration and innovation.
