Michele Abbott, Communications & Training Coordinator, Kansas State 9-1-1 Board
Michele Abbott serves as the Communications & Training Coordinator for the Kansas State 911 Board, supporting public safety answering points across Kansas as they navigate evolving technology, operations and Next Generation 9-1-1. With extensive experience in emergency communications, Michele brings a practitioner-focused perspective to statewide 9-1-1 initiatives and the adoption of emerging technologies. Her work has included helping agencies evaluate and implement new capabilities designed to improve the flow of information from the emergency communications center to responders in the field, including responder applications that provide access to enhanced incident information. Michele is an advocate for practical innovation that begins with the needs of telecommunicators and responders. Her experience helping agencies move new technology from concept to operational use provides valuable insight into the opportunities, challenges and lessons that come with being an early adopter in a mission-critical environment.
