One of the most important keywords in the world of public safety operations is "integration." Until now, public safety has relied on countless number of integrations required to perform its daily tasks, particularly to access, process, and create data required to perform daily tasks - find devices and equipment locations, get temperature, moisture, and vibration readings, control objects remotely, and so on. Collectively, we often classify these tasks under the Internet of Things (IoT).

As the world is embracing standards-based mission critical communications powered by ubiquitous broadband, there lies great opportunity to reduce the number of custom integrations and use MCX capabilities as a secure framework for IoT integrations. MCX offers a solid foundation for all types of broadband group communications - voice, video, and data, and it offers a comprehensive framework for integrating all types of data comms, IoT included.

Integration of IoT with the prioritized, highly secure, service provider-managed communication framework of MCX will offer an unprecedented level of control of critical infrastructure to the first responders in the field and dispatch command and control operators, reaching even further by enabling AI-driven automation. Such integration will become a public safety power play, materially assisting the ultimate purpose of public safety response – saving lives. In this session, examine the MCX capabilities and map out integration options for mission critical IoT into the critical communications framework.

Takeaway

1. Understanding of the IoT use cases for critical communications
2. Understanding of MCX capabilities
3. Deep dive on possible approaches to integrate mission critical IoT with broadband MCX systems and benefits of such integration.
