PACE for Broadband: Building Redundant, Mission-Ready Connectivity for Emergency Management
Emergency managers plan for redundancy across every life‑safety system, yet broadband continuity is often overlooked or under‑resourced. This session introduces a modern PACE (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency) framework for connectivity, incorporating macro LTE/5G, high-power user equipment (HPUE), deployables, satellite backhaul, and Wi‑Fi as WAN. Public safety agencies have increasingly asked how to operationalize these layers to maintain communication during disasters, outages, or remote operations. Participants will walk through a scenario‑based tabletop showing how layered broadband paths preserve command‑and‑control, ensure data flows, and prevent mission failure. Attendees will leave with templates and actionable planning tools they can bring directly into exercises or continuity plans.
