DMR: Many Missions, One Standard
Learn about DMR, the worldwide digital standard, is an alternative for mission critical communications from utilities to factories to schools and fire houses to patrol cars. Discover the benefits of having multiple choices for subscribers and infrastructure and key features that enable integration of this technology with consoles, other networks and broadband PTT applications.
Then hear a case study from VELCO, the nation's first statewide transmission-only electric utility, who selected DMR Tier III as its successor, and then hit the question every operator in this position hits. How do you move a live statewide network one site at a time when crews on old radios still have to talk to crews on new ones? The session closes on the end state now being deployed: roughly 60 dispatcher positions, a geographically redundant core, DMR gateways, and location and IoT services on the same network.
After this panel, utilities, public safety agencies, and transport operators still running analog trunking will leave with a migration approach they can test against their own network. In addition, learn from dealers who have designed, deployed and manage small to large networks.
Takeaway
- Why making interoperability the first procurement requirement, not a later integration problem, changes which console vendors can actually compete.
- Review how one dispatch platform bridged MPT 1327 and DMR Tier III traffic during a multi-year, site-by-site cutover.
-Explore what works, what didn't work and the advantages of using a worldwide standard supported by manufactures and used by millions of people every day.
