Organizations around the globe are transitioning their mission-critical communications networks. While the agencies and companies rely heavily on LMR systems, they are also adding broadband capabilities to enhance daily communications and worker safety. This presentation will provide case studies of several organizations that have added broadband features to their narrowband mission-critical voice systems and how those broadband features are benefiting end users. The audience will learn how they might also integrate LTE capabilities into their mission-critical communications systems through first-hand examples from other users. As the industry determines the best way forward with new technologies, better understanding current critical communications deployments incorporating LTE and push-to-talk (PTT) over cellular technology can provide guidance and answer questions.
The presentation will include information from converged mission-critical broadband and voice systems deployed by Transport for London, National Express West Midlands and Transport for Greater Manchester for public transport; H.W. Richardson Group, a trucking company in New Zealand; and U.S.-based Wisconsin Electric Company WEC and Electricity Ashburton in New Zealand.
