Best Practices for Natural Disaster Response
During and following natural disasters, which are occurring more frequently and with higher intensity than in the past, public safety agencies can experience communications outages, hindering emergency response efforts. First responders from outside a disaster area often respond during and after a disaster, making mutual aid and interoperability very important. When communications infrastructure is offline, preconfigured deployable compact radio sites can restore communications. Mounting options from pole to trailer to pad to roof provide flexibility to keep emergency communications ongoing. Satellite connectivity is another option to enable coverage where a network has been impacted, and several new satellite options are available. During the session, hear about interoperability, offline options, satellite, and deployable systems.
