Connectivity to LTE, NR, and mobile broadband services has moved from a luxury to a requirement in less than a decade and some would say in only a few years. The market is saturated with vendors that promise connectivity at a level where IoT will not be a problem to achieve. This session will explore the reality of current mobile network systems, including various quality of service (QOS) systems. Network systems tend to be self-reporting coverage; So how do you really know the coverage, capacity, and speeds of local networking systems? Are networking systems a legitimate alternative or supplemental resource? What is involved in LMR-to-LTE transitions or supplemental services? Typical methodologies will be presented for surveying area-wide network capabilities and compare these to self-reporting models. The use of constellation systems will be an asset for insertion into the network-based ecosystem at a high-level.
Takeaways:
1. Networking commercial models presented.
2. Networking coverage survey protocols.
3. Examples of conversion or supplemental network systems.
