Anthony “Tony” York is the Director of School Safety for Academica Nevada, which support the operation of 17 charter schools in the western United States. Prior to joining Academica, he worked 28+ years with the CCSD Police Department before honorably retiring as a Police Captain in 2018. He has extensive experience in emergency management, school safety, special events, threat assessment and crisis response. Tony was appointed by the Nevada governor to the Nevada School Safety Committee. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, holds a master’s degree in public administration, a bachelor’s in criminal justice, and an associate in industrial security.
