Brandon Smith, Emergency Communications Coordinator, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
Brandon Smith is an Emergency Communications Coordinator Telecommunications Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security’s Cyber and Infrastructure Agency (CISA). In this role, he coordinates state requested technical assistance including communications exercises, engineering studies and communications unit training. Mr. Smith provides coordination and collaboration on interoperability and emergency communications to CISA’s stakeholders.
Prior to joining CISA, Mr. Smith had 15 years of experience in the public safety sector and served as a Communications Unit Leader for a Type II Incident Management Team and participated in many all-hazard incidents, exercises and planned events in Oregon and Washington State. Mr. Smith also served in the Air National Guard for 23 years with a focus on radio communications and Defense Support of Civil Authorities.
Mr. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Idaho and a Satellite, Microwave and Electronic Systems Degree from the Community College of the Air Force.
