Joan Quintana, Associate Director, Texas A&M University ITEC
Joan Quintana is associate director of Texas A&M’s Internet2 Technology Evaluation Center (ITEC) where she directs administration and communications for the center’s research portfolio. Ms. Quintana has worked in telecommunications research since 1997 when she served as project administrator for the Advanced Law Enforcement and Response Technology (ALERT) program sponsored by Departments of Transportation and Justice. Joan later served as program manager for the Disaster Relief, Emergency and Medical Services (DREAMS) program sponsored by the US Army Materiel Command, among others. The program focused on enabling mobile telemedicine in ambulances and rural and remote settings. She has served the Texas Transportation Institute, the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), Texas Department of Transportation, and Texas A&M University working across engineering, technology transfer, economic development and communications strategy as both a public servant and as an entrepreneur.
