Bill Payne, Director of IT Services, Halton Regional Police Service
Bill Payne is an experienced ICT/IT leader who is currently serving with the Halton Regional Police service as Director, Information Technology and as Director, Technology for Canada’s PSBN Innovation Alliance. In his roles, Bill develops teams, strategy, and systems for mission critical infrastructure surrounding broadband data, Next Generation 9-1-1, P25 voice communications, critical dispatch and records environments, and mobile technologies. He has led Halton’s initiatives in establishing Canada’s first production-use Public Safety LTE Network and developing the shared municipal LTE core operating model in use today. His work within the PSBN Innovation Alliance drives technology and operating models for mission critical public safety communications within Ontario – and across Canada.
Over his 35 year technology career, Bill has held innovation and business leadership roles in various industries including; military technology roles, data centre outsourcing, real estate, travel industry as well as financial services and marketing technology start-up companies.
