Mark Pallans, General Manager, Pallans Associates
Mark Pallans is the General Manager of Pallans Associates, a public safety communications consulting firm. Mark is an APCO Life Member, a Fellow of the Radio Club of America and a holder of both a General Class FCC commercial license and an Amateur Radio Extra Class license W4MDP. He is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Electrical Engineering..
His career includes broadcast station engineering for NBC TV, WOR radio and TV, WMCA and WNYE radio in New York. He taught electronic technology for RCA Institutes. He served as a senior quality control engineer for Motorola and operated a marine electronics business in Fort Lauderdale He was the Communication Engineering Manager for Broward County, FL, the Communications Engineering Manager for the Miami-Dade County Police Department and the Senior Communications Engineer for the Miami-Dade County. Afterwards he was Telecommunications Manager for the City of Fort Lauderdale. After retiring he became system administrator of the Nevada Shared Radio System for 6 years, overseeing statewide public safety radio communications for the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Nevada Department of Transportation and NV Energy the primary electric utility in the State of Nevada. He then started Pallans Associates, Communication Consultants where he specializes in smaller governments. For many years now he has worked with APCO and IWCE in the educational aspects of their conferences.
