Charles Packard, Senior Manager of Life Safety and Communications, DFW Airport
Charles "Charlie" Packard is the Senior Manager of Life Safety and Communications at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport where he oversees the development, deployment and management of control systems and critical communications including security, radio communications and life safety throughout the terminals, Integrated Operations Center, outdoor aprons, hangars and more. Charlie implements key visionary information technology initiatives such as the airport's deployment of state-of-the art life safety and mission-critical communications which includes FirstNet. Prior to his current role, Charlie architected, implemented and managed the full lifecycle of communications networks and enterprise applications such as budgeting, staffing, project managing internal and external resources and supporting myriad stakeholders for leading technology contractors and manufacturers including EF Johnson, Excel Communications and Ericsson. He is a principal author of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1221/1225 fire codes and standards which inform current Emergency Responder Radio Communications Systems (ERRCS) codes that are adopted and enforced by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) throughout the United States. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and is a United States Air Force veteran.
