Brian O'Neal, Assistant Fire Chief, Clark County Fire Department
Brian O'Neal was promoted to Deputy Chief of Emergency Management in 2025. Prior to that he served as a Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, and Assistant Chief of Operations and Rural Services. He has also been a Paramedic since 2006. From 2019-2021 Brian served as the liaison to the Southern Nevada Counter-Terrorism Center and LVMPDs MACTAC section, training public safety personnel in both urban and rural settings in critical incident tactics and response.
Brian has a Bachelor of Science in History from Eastern Oregon University, an A.A.S. in Fire Science from College of Southern Nevada, and completed the MPA/MCJ dual master’s degrees from the University of Colorado-Denver, with an emphasis in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Brian has had numerous state and local Incident Management Team and USAR deployments as an Incident Commander and Plans Team Manager with NVTF1. He is qualified as an All-Hazard Type 3 Incident Commander with FEMA. He also is on the Board of Directors for the Southern Nevada Area Communications Council and has worked on the communications plans for Super Bowl 58, Formula One, and the public safety radio system in Las Vegas. In 2025 he was appointed to the 911 Surcharge Advisory Committee tasked with improvements and implementation of NG911 for the Las Vegas area PSAPs.
