Pam Montanari is the Emergency Communications Coordinator for CISA in the Region IV States, including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In this role, Pam supports efforts across all levels of government to build and improve capabilities, provide feedback and assessments for further development of CISA services in emergency communication, and advocate for key CISA programs and activities. Pam previously served as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the ECD/ICTAP program and has over 32 years in local and regional communications. In this role she served as the Pinellas County, FL Radio and Data Systems Manager and the communications chair for Regional Interoperable Communications Committee for the Tampa Bay area. Pam holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Eckerd College; is a Certified Public Manager (CPM) and holds two associate degrees in electronics technology. Former IWCE, APCO and State conference Presenter/Moderator From July 7th to the 17th of 2022, the World Games, an international multi-sport event, was held in Birmingham, Alabama. This 11-day event, which is widely attended, could have easily taken a toll on communications where there are limited resources available. This session will provide an overview of how the planning, that took a span of twelve months, implemented safeguards to protect the communications systems. The panelists will also share some of the lessons learned for future large-scale events that require enhanced communications capabilities.
