I am currently a Fire Captain II for the Los Angeles City Fire Department assigned to an Urban Search and Rescue Fire Station @ LAX. Also the Training Commander and assistant Program Director for the LAFD's UAS program.
I joined LAFD in 1980. And was a Firefighter for 8 years, an Engineer for 8 years and a Fire Captain for 25 years.
I have received numerous training and certifications within my tenure with the department.
I am also a member of FEMA California Task Force I.
I am a California State Fire Marshal certified instructor and part of the teaching cadre at Antelope Valley College Fire Academy for 15 years.
I have held an FAA License as a Private Pilot for over 40 years and was certified as UAS pilot 3 years ago. I also served as a Search & Rescue Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol for 15 years.
I was awarded the Medal of Valor for helping to triage & treat many shooting victims at the Las Vegas Shooting in 2017.
