Melanie Jones is a 34-year public safety veteran having served as a full time Deputy Sheriff for 10 years. She moved to Guilford County in 1999, and began working full time for Guilford County 9-1-1, and remained a reserve deputy with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office until 2013. She has been a Telecommunicator, Certified Training Officer, Asst. Shift Supervisor, Senior Shift Supervisor and 911 Operations Manager. Currently she serves as the Executive Director of Guilford Metro 911, one of the largest consolidated centers in the State of North Carolina. Melanie holds Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL), Emergency Number Professional (ENP), and Certified Public Safety Executive (CPE) certifications. Melanie is currently the 2nd Vice President for the National Emergency Number Association (NENA).
