Captain Michael Gulinello, a 21-year veteran of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and currently, the Commanding Officer of the Information Technology Bureau’s, Life-Safety Systems Division. He has provided direction throughout his career in the NYPD in numerous roles, most importantly the last 3 years within the Information Technology Bureau which focuses on the utilization of emerging technologies to suit the needs of the NYPD's personnel which fosters the highest level of service to NYC residents and support of the NYPD's core mission.
The Life-Safety Systems Division is responsible for the NYPD’s radio communication infrastructure as well as all systems associated with E911 systems / NG911 Development, including portable radios and the Public Safety Broadband space. In his current role he is responsible to oversee more than 300 locations with communications infrastructure, technological oversite of 2 PSACs, 40 thousand deployed portable radios, all vehicle mobile radios, and radio network communications. Furthermore, he is a liaison for NYPD radio communication with NYC agencies and surrounding counties which fosters continued interagency communication procedures.
