Will Egner, Director of Wireless Strategy, Axon
Dr. Will Egner is a technical leader with over 25 years of industry experience in wireless devices and software product development.
Will directs Axon’s eco-system of wireless partners and is focused on the mission of keeping Axon’s devices connected under mission critical circumstances. Will has been the driving force behind the creation of a group of global service providers that will enable Axon to deliver a portfolio of connected life saving devices that are transform Public Safety.
Before joining Axon, Will served as a Mobility Technology Strategist within Dell’s Client Technology Group, where he was responsible for driving recommendations for Wireless Technology adoption including 5G. While at Dell, Will delivered a portfolio of inventions in the field of “context aware computing” that delivered optimized computation across heterogenous wireless networks.
Prior to Dell, Will co-founded and served as CTO of Cerion. Cerion built software engineering products that deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in network savings to a global group of wireless service providers.
Will is a prolific inventor, with over 40 US patents granted in the computing and communication fields. Will has also served on the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) board of directors. Will graduated with B.S.E.E from Clarkson University, a M.S.E.E from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Arlington.
