Dennison Coomer is the logistics and planning manager of the Public Safety and Emergency Communications section under the South Carolina Department of Administration. Dennison also serves as the ESF-2 (Communications) lead for the South Carolina's Emergency Response Team. He began his communications career in the private sector as a radio technician before transitioning into state government in 2009. While serving as the Communications Manager for the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, Dennison supported the state and local response to several major disaster declarations including the Highway 31 Fire, various Winter Storms, 1000 Year Flood, and Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. In October of 2018, on his first day with the Department of Administration, Dennison deployed to Marion County SC to restore public safety communications infrastructure which had been devastated by Hurricane Matthew. Today, Dennison continues to promote interoperability within the Public Safety community between federal, state, local governments, and private partners both in state and across borders.
