NG911 systems are being deployed in certain areas across the country as islands. In the near future these island networks will need to interconnect with their neighbor jurisdiction, then with a statewide network, and eventually act as a nationwide network. Investments made by the agencies and Congress have gone a long way to ensure that the networks are interoperable and secure. This panel consisting of members of Federal Agencies, State 911 leadership, NENA, and academia will share the current status of NG911 Interoperability and Cyber Security efforts. A demonstration of the certification process will be provided, the status of the newly established cyber security testbed will be discussed, and the vision of a sustainable financial model will be shared.
