The FCC’s 6 GHz Decision (recently upheld by the Court Of Appeals) enables operation of unlicensed consumer devices in the band. The utility and public safety communities have presented evidence of the potential of interference to microwave operations from these unlicensed devices, to no avail. Thus, going forward, it is imperative that microwave licenses employ proactive measures to detect and identify interference.
