The city of Gainesville, Texas, is enhancing public safety and municipal communications with the implementation of a Project 25 (P25) Phase 2 trunked radio system. The network serves the communication needs of the city's fire and police departments. Gainesville is also fostering collaboration with neighboring Sherman, which is implementing a P25 Phase 2 simulcast network. Sherman is also integrating dispatch consoles via the standards-based P25 Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI). The P25 Inter Subsystem RF Interface (ISSI) will connect the two P25 radio cores with an intra-ISSI. This partnership aims to establish seamless communication between the two cities, further enhancing emergency response capabilities, situational awareness, and coordination.
Takeaway
During the session, the audience will learn the following:
• Details about the P25 LMR networks and ISSI connection
• Deployment of a licensed microwave ring to enhance the system's resilience and ensure uninterrupted communication
• How the project leverages standards-based LMR technology and partnerships to enhance public safety, streamline city operations, and provide the best services possible to its residents
