Large datasets containing personally identifiable information (PII) are valuable resources for research and policy in public safety, finance, and many other fields. NIST, PSCR Challenges have shown high-performance data synthesizers can allow dataset sharing while protecting individual privacy. We introduce use and limitations of, and quality metrics for, synthetic data.
