Through the critical-communications arena, there is growing enthusiasm surrounding connected solutions for everything from vehicles to handheld devices to sensors. In almost all cases, they have one thing in common—the need for semiconductor chips that act as the “brains” of the device. But various factors have resulted in a supply shortage of semiconductors chips, particularly older versions. In addition, trade policies are impacting where key items like surveillance cameras can be purchased.
