While fiber is often the primary delivery mechanism or backbone for Smart City initiatives, there are numerous use cases where fiber deployment isn't practical or cost effective. This session will explore the different wireless spectrum and technologies that Smart City deployments may utilize in a wireless wide area network (WWAN) to support smart meter/smart sensor applications, point to point broadband data and video backhaul, real time supervisory control and data (SCADA) and telemetry applications or campus type private LTE networks.

Takeaway

What technology and spectrum options are available for Smart City wireless networks and key differences in the performance, coverage, configuration, costs and data rates for each.
