While the most urgent emergency-response messages continue to be delivered via PTT, these directions are the result of decisions that increasingly are based on data coming from multiple sources. In some cases, the information can be static, such as the location of fire hydrants or gas stations. Other data changes dynamically, such as the location of personnel or a wildfire in windy conditions.
Attendees will learn how a variety of technologies—from location-based services to sensor-based IoT solutions and video from both fixed and mobile cameras—are being leveraged in near real time to provide responders with the best understanding of their environment in an emergency.
The panel will examine how all of these informational inputs are delivered to a 911 center or incident-command post and how they are processed—by humans and automated systems—so actionable decisions can be made in a timely manner.
