Personnel that require the highest levels of capability, security of communications, and interoperability require the flexibility for operators to maintain focus on the task on hand with communications solutions for missions on land, air, and sea. Seamlessly secured backhaul communications need to be interconnectable to multiple media communications, whether they’re deployable vehicles or for disaster communications needs. Understand the needs of communications and layer different levels/mode of connecting to the network. What does current communications look like and what will it look like in the future?
- Backhaul communications need to be flexible and interconnectable to multiple media of communications including 4G, 5G, satellite, microwave and LMR radio.
- Important to design communications for voice, video, data and messaging (SMS, MMS, IMS) while ensuring that high throughput communications such as video do not use all of the bandwidth available.
- The on-site user interfaces need to be layered for different levels of user, different activities and different modes of connecting to the network.
